Distance Learning orientations are designed to help students new to online learning better prepare themselves for success at Montgomery College. Except where noted below, all orientations are OPTIONAL!
We highly recommend all new students choose and attend one of the orientation options below.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Some of the courses you have registered for (i.e., Eng 101 or Eng 102) have their own orientations and we would recommend you to sign up for those instead of the DL orientations listed below. Please check your course's information through the Print or Online Schedule page, or MyMC for more information on how to attend your course's specific orientation, if applicable.
A face-to-face orientation to distance learning.
Six separate sessions are scheduled every semester (Spring, Summer, and Fall). You are invited to attend one of the sessions. Topics covered will be how to get started in distance learning, what you need to know, navigating WebCT (the course management program on which most online courses are delivered at MC), important resources, online library skills, and practice on the computer. There will be time for questions and answers.
